While I've owned this cookbook for quite some time, I started really reading through it this summer, shortly before moving so have just recently come across it again, far into the next season. Some of the reviews online that I saw complained of the time frames indicated for the produce and the California bias of what might be available during a particular season.

It's a fair critique; this is decidedly a California farmer's market book written by a S. Bay Area author so it leans to local conce While I've owned this cookbook for quite some time, I started really reading through it this summer, shortly before moving so have just recently come across it again, far into the next season. Bay Area author so it leans to local concepts of seasonality longer, warmer even as it gives a nod towards farmer's markets and concepts of cooking in season wherever you may reside.

Since I am a bay area native, it generally works for and appeals to me, but I recognize that all cookbooks are going to present recipes that may not be applicable for the ingredients available to where one lives or the time of year one happens to be reading the book.
